First Impression Friday is hosted by Joe – Storeys of Stories! The aim of the meme is to talk about a book that you’ve just started. Based on what you have read so far, discuss your first impressions. Then, when you have finished the book, look back at your First Impressions post and see if your predictions were correct!
After reading Copycat and Bring Me Back, I felt like I needed a break from crime books because I was disappointed with both of them. I don’t know if that’s because I’ve read so many crime books lately that the suspense is wearing thin or just because I’m becoming too picky in my book standards.
Anyway, this week I’ve started reading Thirteen. I requested his book on Netgalley ages ago… but then in classic Netgalley style, they didn’t approve it for ages. And when they did approve it, they also approved me for lots of other crime books at the same time. Why Netgalley, WHY!?
I’m only 20 pages in and already the killer is fascinating me. In addition, the premise of the book itself is mind-blowing. I mean… how many crime books do you read where the serial killer IS ON THE JURY!?!?!?
I really wasn’t sure what rating to predict for this book. It seems good so far, but with the latest bunch of disappointing crime thrillers I’ve read I don’t know if it will live up to my expectations!
