Faking Friends – Jane Fallon

5 Stars

Blurb: ‘Amy thought she knew everything there was to know about her best friend Melissa. Faking FriendsThen again, Amy also thought she was on the verge of the wedding of her dreams to her long-distance fiancé.

Until she pays a surprise trip home to London. Jack is out, but it’s clear another woman has been making herself at home in their flat. There’s something about her stuff that feels oddly familiar . . . and then it hits Amy. The Other Woman is Melissa.

Amy has lost her home, her fiancé and her best friend in one disastrous weekend – but instead of falling apart, she’s determined to get her own back.

Piecing her life back together won’t be half as fun as dismantling theirs, after all.’

When Amy returns to the UK after working in New York, she finds out that her fiancée is having an affair…. with her best friend. Rather than having a meltdown, she decides to get her own back…

When I read the blurb for this book, I thought it was a crime/thriller book, however it turned out to be more chick-lit. Normally I wouldn’t pick up books from this category but I actually thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading more of Janes work in the future!

Luckily I’ve never been in Amy’s position, but if I was I think I’d react in the same way. Whenever any one hurts me/ annoys me… I always say that I don’t want something REALLY bad to happen them, but I wouldn’t mind if they broke an arm or something that like…. And this is the vibe that this book carries throughout.

Although what Amy does to her ex fiancée and best friend isn’t very nice, I was rooting for her the whole way!

For any girl that ever been screwed over: This book is for you!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
